We will start testing the whole system on February 28, 2022. During this time, no WU will be sent out, and the website and forum will not be active.
Dear volunteers, as you are well aware of, Sunday February 27th will be the last day the website and forum will be active before the pause during migration. The last 3 work units finished today. All data have been transferred from IBM. IBM infrastructure will be suspended on February 28th. We will keep a simple web site operation to provide updates on the migration.
We are now performing integrity checks and a full data and system backup. By March 1st, final check and sync will be performed, and on March 2nd IBM infrastructure will be decommissioned. The static website is set up and will be available by then.
Internal testing of our QA and production systems will begin as of Monday. Internal tests will be followed with beta testing, and full restart of all current projects. We will update on the timelines in advance.
Volunteers (all devices running BOINC/WCG) will automatically begin receiving work units when the system is brought up again.
As of Monday February 28th at 3 p.m. UTC, we will post all updates and communications on the simplified WCG website, and will cross-post them on WCG Facebook and Twitter pages. Unfortunately, neither forums, nor the full WCG webpage material will be accessible during this time.
