27 May 2016 – Behind the Scenes: World Community Grid Goes to the Webby Awards
On May 16, three members of the World Community Grid team accepted a People's Voice Webby Award on behalf of volunteers, supporters, the IBM design team who created the new sign-up process, and World Community Grid employees. In this article, Keith Uplinger, World Community Grid technical lead, writes about their trip to the awards ceremony.

19 May 2016 – Help an International Research Team Fight the Zika Virus
The Zika virus was relatively unknown until 2015, when it made headlines due its rapid spread and its link to severe brain-related deficiencies in newborns born to mothers who contracted the virus while pregnant. Dr. Carolina Horta Andrade, the principal investigator for the new OpenZika project, discusses how she and an international team of researchers are using World Community Grid to accelerate the search for an effective anti-Zika treatment.

02 May 2016 – Behind the Scenes: Computing for Clean Water at South by Southwest Interactive 2016
A group of innovators and entrepreneurs learned about World Community Grid for the first time at South by Southwest Interactive 2016, when program manager Juan Hindo and researcher Francois Grey gave a joint presentation about the Computing for Clean Water project.

12 Apr 2016 – Uncovering Genome Mysteries Hopes to Shed Light on Zika and Other Viruses
Uncovering Genome Mysteries is analyzing protein sequences from Zika and related viruses in order to help scientists better understand them. Dr. Wim Degrave, who is deeply involved in Brazil's response to the Zika crisis, gave us this update to describe how these analyses fit into the larger work of Uncovering Genome Mysteries, and how the project could help scientists develop new tools to diagnose and treat Zika virus and similar diseases.
