| Defeating Cancer Together |
|
| World Community Grid is contributing to the fight to defeat cancer.
The "Help Defeat Cancer" project will use the computational power of World Community Grid to provide
the power to analyze a large number of cancer tissue microarrays (TMA) that will help doctors improve
treatment and therapy planning for cancer patients.

| Project Update |
|
| The Human Proteome Folding Project — Phase 1 has been completed, and scientists are now examining the results.
A soon-to-be published paper with all the Human Proteome Folding results generated by World Community Grid will be made publicly available for
other researchers to leverage. The second phase of the project – Human Proteome Folding Project — Phase 2 – was launched in June and holds great promise in uncovering
even more information on the role of proteins and their impact on diseases such as malaria.

| Marist College Project |
|
| During the spring 2006 semester, IBM worked with
public relations students at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to tap into their insights and to
provide a real-world project on which students could test their PR skills. Marist, a national leader
in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning, became World
Community Grid's first university partner in 2004.

| Technical Tips - Tell A Friend, Throttle |

You've already told everyone you know about World Community Grid, but now is the time to remind them again how easy it
is to donate to research that is working on ways to treat cancer and AIDS! Not only is it easy for them to
help the cause, but it's also now easier for you to tell them about it! All you have to do is go to the new
Tell A Friend page, and fill in your friends' names and
e-mail addresses. World Community Grid will send them an official e-mail, to which you can add your own personal
message.
