World Community Grid Testimonials |

And Now a Word on and from Our Partners...
Even the most powerful grids hold little - if any - value without people. Building a vibrant volunteer
force requires creating a full volunteer experience that goes beyond inspiration and results. These include creating for the
volunteer both the ability to effectively participate and a strong sense of community.
Volunteering for World Community Grid is as easy as going to the web site, registering with
minimal personal information, and downloading and installing the agent - a process that takes no longer than five minutes.
Once done, volunteerism is on auto-pilot, requiring no further action from the user.
Creating a strong sense of community is a more challenging task, one that requires multiple strategies -
perhaps none more important than the help and support of our dedicated partners. Currently, World Community Grid has more than
200 company, university, association and nonprofit partners - each encouraging their communities of employees, students,
faculty and members to join this important initiative.
Our partners have helped build World Community Grid's community by creating teams expressly for their
employees, students, faculty and members. They also have published stories on their web sites and in their newsletters about the
initiative. In doing so, they have strengthened their own communities by providing a shared and meaningful volunteer experience.
A number of our partners have provided World Community Grid with testimonials on their participation.
We are sharing just a handful below.
World Community Grid is a perfect fit for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and our belief that unity is strength. We will support this initiative by installing the software on all Foundation computers, and we encourage everyone with a computer to likewise assist in this critical work. Together, we can make a tremendous difference to people affected by cancer.
- Mitch Stoller, president and CEO, Lance Armstrong Foundation
Marist has a long tradition of service and giving back to the community. World Community Grid is a 21st century advancement on this tradition of service, allowing our students, faculty, and staff to help solve a myriad of problems facing humankind. World Community Grid is a safe, secure and an easy way for us to offer the perfect use of technology for the greater good.
- Dennis Murray, President of Marist College
More than a partnership, the adhesion of the City Hall of Petrópolis to (World Community Grid) can be understood as a human act of solidarity and a duty of all petropolitano citizens. The City Hall made available its Intranet and equipment to integrate the wellness net and publishes in its website www.petropolis.rj.gov.br this initiative, inviting and motivating the population to join the project. Petropolis government also believes that actions as this help to consolidate the Movement Petrópolis Tecnópolis, a technology source that is contributing (to) the economic and social development of the city.
- Rubens Bomtempo Prefeito, Mayor of Petropolis, Brazil
United Way is pleased to be involved with World Community Grid. It's nice to know that excess computer capacities are being used in a constructive manner. This concept fits squarely with United Way's mission as a community problem solver.
- Ira M. Bellach, Vice President & CIO, United Way of NYC
