Video Challenge

World Community Grid has launched an exciting video challenge and awareness campaign called "I Dedicate". The purpose of this multifaceted campaign is to increase awareness of World Community Grid in social networking communities, and grow our volunteer base.

Videos play a central role. World Community Grid is in the process of adding several new videos to the web site. Right now, you can see Stanley Litow, IBM Vice President Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs, and President of the IBM International Foundation, along with Robin Willner, IBM Vice President for Global Community Initiatives talk about what World Community Grid is all about and what it means to them. You can also watch an interview with the Principal Investigator for the Nutritious Rice for the World project, Dr. Ram Samudrala. These are great videos to share with your friends to help explain why they should join you in contributing idle computer time to World Community Grid.

Two additional videos are coming soon, one will address World AIDS Day and the other one an upcoming World Community Grid research project. All of the videos are being posted on YouTube, so you can embed them on your blog, and easily share them with friends and family. You can also rate the videos and leave comments!

In addition to these, World Community Grid has launched a video contest asking volunteers to show us why they're dedicating their computer time to World Community Grid. Through these personal dedications, we hope to inspire many others to make a difference by contributing to humanitarian research. To watch an example video, click here; to participate, upload your dedication by November 17th.

We look forward to seeing your videos!
