Welcome to World Community Grid's newsletter!
World Community Grid will soon be celebrating its 4th anniversary! We are very proud to have been able to join
two important groups together: Individuals who want to make a difference and scientists
eager to significantly advance their humanitarian research. In the four years that World Community Grid
has been running, 10 research projects have launched, and many research milestones have been reached. Going forward,
World Community Grid will be running a number of exciting new research projects, so stay tuned.
Running more research requires additional computing power, so World Community Grid always welcomes new members who
wish to dedicate the unused cycles of their computers to humanitarian research. So to get more people to
join World Community Grid, we have created a video challenge, which you can learn more about in this newsletter.
Also included in this newsletter are testimonials from members who are inspired by and excited about their participation
in World Community Grid.
We hope you find this newsletter informative.

| On our fourth anniversary, we celebrate our tremendous volunteer force of
more than 411,000 volunteers who have registered more than 1,111,000 computers. Together, we have
contributed enough computing power to make World Community Grid the largest volunteer effort of its kind
on the planet. More than 195,000 years of computer run time have been provided, allowing for 216 million
results to be made available to important humanitarian research.

| Research Update |
|
Since World Community Grid's launch in November 2004, more than
200 million research results have been produced by the computers of participating volunteers. The computer
power that our volunteer community has donated equals one PC running nonstop for more than 195,000 years.
With this tremendous power, World Community Grid is able to run five projects at the same time. In December of 2008
we will be announcing our next exciting project so stay tuned for that. Our schedule also has several
additional projects starting in early 2009. Read more for updates for all the projects
that are currently running on World Community Grid as well as those that have finished running
