Re-activate While you may have joined World Community Grid, your membership may be inactive. That means that your unused computer time is being wasted when it could be contributing to humanitarian research! The good news is that it is easy to reconnect your PC or laptop or add any new devices that you have. To do this, go to the Join Now page at www.worldcommunitygrid.org/viewJoinNow.do, and choose whether you have a Windows or Linux computer. Then simply follow the instructions for downloading the client software and register your device(s). Please note the following:
Did you know that you can direct the grid agent to run only when the screen saver on your PC kicks in? To enable this feature, open your grid agent, select the Preferences button, and click on the checkbox that says: "Run only as screen saver." Member Name and Password If you have forgotten your member name, you can recall it by simply opening the grid agent running on your PC. You will see your member name on the upper right-hand corner of the home page of the grid agent. If you do not have the grid agent running on your PC any longer, then please rejoin! If you have forgotten your password, you can recover your password via the "forgot password" feature on the home page. You will need to know your member name in order to recover your password, and your e-mail address must be correct on your My Profile page. Or you might be a member who opted to use a "challenge phrase" to recover your password. In that case, the site will prompt you for that phrase. Multiple Devices Did you know that you can run more than one PC with one member name? Doing so will significantly raise your contributions to humanitarian research — and can earn you more points! To take advantage of this feature, simply download the agent to your new PC. When you get to the registration page, click on the checkbox called "Existing member" and enter your member name and password before continuing. My Grid To manage your World Community Grid experience, log on to the site to view My Grid. Once there, you can go to My Profile to view your personal statistics, find a team to join or check on your team's progress, and go to the device manager to schedule when your grid agent will run and communicate with the grid servers. You also can update information about yourself such as your member name and e-mail address and can change your password by selecting the Sign In Manager link. If you haven't done so already, please select the country that you represent while you are on the My Profile page; it helps us track volunteerism around the globe.
